One Mission.
At the Potomac Pavilion, our mission is to provide top-notch care when you need it most. No more traditional process where you experience days of waiting to receive your first visit with a therapist. Your worst day can be the day that you receive the help and hope that you need. When you come to the Potomac Pavilion, care is now.
Potomac Pavilion is designed to address the needs of the community by simplifying the way individuals and first responders access crisis services and other behavioral health treatment. It features an ambulance bay so that first responders can connect people in crisis to the help that they need without overloading hospitals with people who need specialized mental health treatment.
People experiencing a mental health crisis or substance use crisis can get help immediately at Potomac Pavilion.
One Building. Two Paths.
Potomac Pavilion has two main entrances. These two entrances represent two different pathways to care.
West Entrance
Program(s): Connect to Care (C2C)
Hours: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Friday
Opening Date: Monday, January 26, 2026
Coming in through the doors of the west entrance, you’ll be greeted by AMHR’s Connect to Care team. Connect to Care is where you can find same-day access to non-emergency mental health care.
At Connect to Care, you will receive a mental health screening and be seen by an initial therapist. This therapist will talk to you and find out what you need from therapy. From there, they will find out what your best therapy fit is and connect you to the right therapist and care plan for your needs.
North Entrance
Program(s):
- Crisis Walk-In Clinic
- Crisis Stabilization Unit
- Withdrawal Management (Formerly East Metro Detox)
Hours: 24/7, 365
Opening Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026
Coming in through the doors of the north entrance, you will be greeted by AMHR’s Crisis Walk-In Clinic. The Crisis Walk-In Clinic is where you can find same-day access to emergency mental health and substance use care. This entrance is open 24 hours a day, every day, and is intended for both individuals who are self-admitting and for first responders to admit individuals through an ambulance bay.
Through the north entrance, community members can access the Crisis Walk-In Clinic to receive a mental health screening and stabilization. They can also access AMHR’s 16-bed Crisis Stabilization Unit or Withdrawal Management (formerly East Metro Detox). At both programs, you will be admitted for 1-5 days, until you and your care team feel that you are ready to take the next steps in your mental health/recovery journey.
