Every day, individuals with complex behavioral health and substance use needs are cycled in and out of Colorado’s criminal justice system. Our goal is to stop the cycle by providing these justice-involved individuals with the care they need.
Forensic Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (ForFACT) is an evidence-based program providing individualized wraparound services designed to stabilize these individuals and reduce recidivism. We ease the burden put on the justice system by reducing the use of jail bed days and providing services in a more appropriate community treatment setting.
ForFACT Program Qualifications
The ForFACT program is meant for justice-involved individuals in the greater Aurora area who require a higher level of care than the standard outpatient setting due to complex behavioral health and substance use challenges.
Client Eligibility*:
- Must have had justice involvement with or without incarceration
- Must have a diagnosed mental illness and/or substance use disorder
ForFACT prioritizes clients with multiple incarcerations and may include individuals found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, those found incompetent to stand trial, and those who meet the level of service need while on probation or parole.

ForFACT Services
Built on the well-established Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model of care, ForFACT combines mental health and substance use services with case management to respond to the changing needs of forensic (justice-involved) clients. Clients may transition between intensive outpatient treatment and lower levels of care depending on the unique circumstances faced by the individual. Our services are client-centered, trauma-informed, and highly collaborative. Active client participation is the key to our success.
We connect clients with a therapist and a case manager who will develop a treatment plan and ensure access to physician operations, vocational services, wraparound services, and 24/7 crisis services. In addition to traditional behavioral health treatment, we focus on addressing the individual causes of criminal behavior.
