Autism & I/DD Counseling Center – Adults
Aurora Mental Health & Recovery's Autism & I/DD Counseling Center in Aurora – Adults program empowers clients to make safe and positive decisions about their lives. Our trained staff develop treatment plans based on the specific needs of each client and with consideration for the client's entire environment.
Throughout the process, our professionals consult and collaborate with other providers involved with the client including host home providers, medical organizations, and community support agencies. Our approach to healthcare is focused on treating the whole person and providing them with the tools they need for success.
Autism & I/DD Counseling Center – Adults program services for clients ages 18 and up, offers individual and group therapy sessions along with the following:
- Clinical assessments and consultation
- Crisis drop-in and intervention
- Case management services
- Coordinating and collaborating with community partners, primary care providers, and psychiatrists
- Group and individual therapy
- Psychoeducation
- Recreation therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy
Our Aurora Mental Health & Recovery team takes a trauma-informed care approach and uses evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for socialization support.

AMHR’s Autism & I/DD Counseling Center – Youth program provides high-quality, youth and family-focused care for young individuals between the ages of six and twenty-one living with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a co-occurring mental health condition. Our team’s mission is to provide the least restrictive, specialized treatment possible for every child.
Services offered include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, extensive case management, and medication monitoring, all adapted to the specialized needs of your youth.
Our treatment goals include:

- Engaging families and caregivers in supporting the health and well-being of their youth
