Aurora Mental Health & Recovery’s Autism & I/DD Counseling Center provides specialized mental health services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). The center is divided into two mental health programs: one for youth and one for adults.

There are complex circumstances that occur when individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities begin to struggle with their mental health. Our staff are specially trained to manage the challenges faced by people with these unique diagnoses. Always focused on best practices, the Autism & I/DD Counseling Center's state-of-the-art care plans are adapted to meet the diverse needs of our client population and their families.

Program Services Include:

  • Individual, Family, & Group Therapy
  • Clinical Assessments & Consultation
  • Crisis Intervention
  • Case Management Services
  • Coordination/Collaboration with Community Partners, Primary Care Providers, & Psychiatrists
  • Psychoeducation
  • Recreation Therapy

  • Decreasing psychiatric & behavioral symptoms
  • Building resilience by focusing on strengths
  • Reducing the need for higher levels of care
  • Involving community agencies for additional support

Bilingual Services and Interpretation Available
